How Dallaire Heating and Cooling Scaled from a Solo Operation to a Thriving 10-Person Team with Breezy

A Mission-Driven Beginning
Randy Dallaire, founder and owner of Dallaire Heating and Cooling, was practically born into HVAC. “My last name’s spelled DAL-air,” Randy jokes. “It’s in my blood.” But beyond a catchy name, Randy built his company with a bigger vision: to make HVAC training and expertise accessible to anyone willing to learn.
Starting his HVAC career at 17, Randy worked his way from installer to operations manager, experiencing firsthand the industry’s gaps—especially in training. In 2021, he decided to launch Dallaire Heating and Cooling, not just to serve customers but to build a culture of education and excellence.
“I wanted to create a training platform because I felt like I didn’t have access to that kind of information when I started,” Randy shared.

Rapid Growth, Real Challenges
What began as a one-man, one-van operation quickly outgrew its humble beginnings. Within three years, Dallaire Heating and Cooling grew to a 10-person team, with a strong reputation and loyal customer base. But scaling brought its own challenges—keeping operations organized, maintaining a high-touch customer experience, and finding software that met the specific needs of an HVAC company.
Randy was no stranger to software. Over his 18 years in the industry, he’d used everything from paper tickets to ServiceTitan. He knew what worked—and what didn’t. “The problem with most software was that it wasn’t built for HVAC,” Randy said.
“We used Jobber when I started the company because it was affordable, but it didn’t have the depth I needed.”

Finding the Right Fit with Breezy
That’s when Breezy reached out. Randy recalls, “Sean messaged me on LinkedIn—right place, right time. I was intrigued because they weren’t just selling me software; they asked me to be an advisor, to help build it.”
What stood out was Breezy’s responsiveness and dedication to HVAC-specific needs. Randy worked closely with the Breezy team, contributing ideas and feedback that directly shaped key features.
“It was like the software was designed for me,” he said.
Game-Changer: Maintenance Plans and More
One of the standout features for Dallaire Heating and Cooling has been Breezy’s robust maintenance plan management. “We’ve now got over 100 maintenance members, and having an automated system that tracks payments, schedules visits, and manages equipment is a lifesaver—especially in the slow season,” Randy noted. “Those recurring payments keep the lights on when service calls are scarce.”
Breezy’s review feature also made a tangible impact.
“We’ve always been big on asking for reviews, but now it’s built right into the app. Our techs can send a review request at the end of every job, and we’ve seen a big uptick in Google reviews because of that.”

From Sticky Notes to Smart Boards
Another game-changer? Breezy’s drag-and-drop job board. “We used to literally move paper folders down a line for each stage of a job—install scheduled, permit pulled, inspection complete. Breezy digitized that whole process. Now, nothing gets lost in the shuffle,” Randy explained.
His team has also embraced Breezy’s AI-powered equipment scanner, which lets techs snap a photo of a unit and automatically capture model and serial numbers—no manual typing required.
“Technicians hate paperwork, but now it’s just: snap, done.”

Support That Feels Personal
Randy emphasizes that the relationship goes beyond the product. “The Breezy team listens. Whether it’s a bug or a feature request, they respond fast—and often fix it fast too. That’s rare.”
The Bottom Line
For Randy, Breezy has been a crucial part of Dallaire Heating and Cooling’s growth story. “It’s hard to quantify exactly, but having Breezy keeps us organized and professional. Customers notice—and that keeps them coming back.”
His advice to other HVAC business owners? “If you’re using generic software, Breezy’s a no-brainer. And if you’re using one of the big guys, Breezy gives you what you need—without the bloated cost.”
